25 June Update
By Sheltowee @ 10:37 AM :: 252 Views :: 1 Comments ::

Wednesday, the day of live music and cooking out on the lawn. Early this afternoon we had one scout from a troop come into the health lodge with a fever, later in the afternoon a second appeared from the same troop. Those two scouts were isolated at the time the fever appeaered and were taken home by one of the unit leaders last night. Working with unit leaders and the health department, we isolated the rest of the troop into their campsite last night, delivering dinner to them. We checked every scouts temperature and had two scouts that were slightly above normal, so we took them to the health lodge for the evening. An hour after their temperature's were taken they were taken again at the health lodge, both back to normal. They spent the night in the lodge and this morning one scouts temp was still normal temp, one was just over 100. The rest of the troop, back in the campsite passed the pre-breakfast temp check and the pre-lunch check and. They were permitted to return to the program late this morning with the blessing of the health department, except the one scout with the slight fever.

The scouts missed this mornings sessions and my staff will work with them to get them caught up.

Last night the band played again and the weather was fabulous for the hoe-down on the lawn. The troops attended vespers services prior to enjoying a great campfire where they performed their skits. Another good day at CDB.

Thursday has been another day of abundant sunshine. We have seen a lot of scouts swimming in the river and lake and alot of scouts carrying a stringer of trout from their fishing excursions. Boonesboro Village has finished building their wood fired kiln so that they can cure the pottery projects. I will try to update again tonight.

Are the scouts that are sent home tested for the flu? Do the boyscouts follow-thru on why the scouts had the slight rise in temperature. I realize kids can be sick without having the flu. I feel bad for those boys, but appreciate your willingness to follow the proper procedures for the health of all the scouts. I will pray for those boys.
