The scouts woke this morning to a chilly 54 degree day, the sun peeping over the mountains and bringing the first light of the day to Lake Allen. Fish jumping and coffee brewing, what a way to start the day. The scouts enjoyed a fabulous Tuesday working on their merit badges. I spoke with some of the crew on the whitewater trek and they are having a great experience. Leaders enjoyed the Scoutmaster Shoot-off and many have begun making their handmade golf clubs for Thursday’s Scoutmasters Golf Tournament.
Chili dogs for lunch and more blue skies and swimming in the swimming hole in the stream for the afternoon. Scouts hiked, climbed, shot, practiced raising and lowering the flag, learned about conservation, ecology, and how to work a forge and wood fired pottery kiln.
Another exciting, healthy day at Camp Daniel Boone. |
