Five Day Adventure Trek
Camp Daniel Boone is excited to announce a NEW Trek opportunity in 2025, and is proud to partner with the Nantahala Outdoor Center (NOC) to provide our Scouts with multiple rafting opportunities. NOC has been in operation since 1972 and has been called "One of the Greatest Outfitters on Earth" by National Geographic Magazine. Their commitment to professionalism and safety are the cornerstone of their success.
The Five Day Adventure Trek
Camp Daniel Boone’s newest Trek Adventure! The 5 Day Adventure Trek pieces together the best outdoor activities that are at the heart of high adventure programming: Whitewater Rafting, Ziplining, and Mountain Biking! We will start the week off in the trees on the NOC’s Zip Line Adventure Park where they will experience thrilling ariel obstacles 40 feet in the air. After lunch, they will then travel to Fontana Lake, where they will spend the afternoon canoeing and exploring North Carolina’s deepest lake at 440' deep. On Tuesday, we whitewater raft down the Nantahala River. This will be a guided rafting adventure as your Scouts experience Class 1-3 rapids over 8 fun-filled miles, finishing with Nantahala Falls. On Wednesday, you will spend the majority of the day mountain biking in the Nantahala National Forest and Flint Ridge. On Thursday, we get back in the raft on the Ocoee River in Tennessee, paddling through Class 3 and 4 rapids! Finally, we end the week on the 3 oldest river in the world- the French Broad. This capstone rafting adventure lets us paddle through Class 2 and 3 rapids and end an exhilarating week with the new friends you’ve made along the way! Crews will be housed at the High Adventure Outpost and cook their own evening meals (food provided). NOTE: Scouts can NOT earn the Whitewater Merit Badge using a raft because the Whitewater Merit Badge only uses canoes and kayaks. Participants MUST weigh between 100lbs and 250lbs for ziplines and between 60lbs and 250lbs for the ZLAP course.
Crews will be housed between the Harrison High Adventure Outpost and cook their own evening meals (food provided).
