Camp Service Projects
Camp Daniel Boone is more than a place... it's family.
Over the last few months, this concept has become abundantly clear by the actions of countless volunteers that have already helped out with clean-up activities and maintenance projects around Camp- totaling over 3,500 service hours in all!
Let's keep the momentum going! Our Camp, while pristine in it's natural beauty, needs maintenance to keep it welcoming for Scouts and Scouters in the years to come. Sign up to lend a hand using the form below.
Volunteers are needed for the following projects! Whether you are a friend of camp or your unit is in need of a service project, see below for the current list of projects from the Rangers to help keep camp looking great!
Troop Projects:
Aquatics – Re-install fence after lake dredging is complete
All areas – Spring cleanup: sweep leaves off tent platforms, pick up sticks and branches in open areas, trim back small branches around tent platforms, etc
Health Lodge – Debris removal from under building
Cherokee campsite – Split rail fence repair. Replace damaged rail sections
Skilled Adult projects:
Graham Lodge – rebuild stairs going up to the building. Cutting and installing new stringers, stair tread installation, possible railing replacement.
Showerhouses – Need a very detail oriented adult or two to paint new door frames and doors after they are installed. Stress on the very detailed oriented as this will be oil based paint, and we can’t get it on the surrounding areas, etc.
Ark Staff Lodge – roof repair on asphalt shingle porch roof
There may be more projects available if you possess a special skill such as:
- Roofers - Need some repair work done on the metal roof at the rifle range
- Electricians
- Construction
- Plumbers

Workday FAQ's:
1) How can I help?
Camp Daniel Boone is grateful for any manpower and resources to help repair and maintain Camp- we're looking for adults and youth who can work on specific projects listed above, such as campsite & facility repair, debris clean-up (mother nature can be a bit messy), etc..
2) What should I bring with me to the work day?
A good pair of work gloves, boots or shoes that can get dirty, a water bottle, lunch/snacks, sunscreen, and raingear! Other than that, we'll provide all the supplies you'll need.
3) Who can come to the work days?
We welcome any Scouts and/or Scouters from anywhere to come lend a hand- just be sure to fill out the form below to let us know you're coming!
4) What about Cub Scouts? Can they come help, too?
Sure! We welcome all members of our Scouting Family to come out and pitch-in. However, the bulk of our projects require skilled help from adults and older youth. Just let us know that you're coming with younger Scouts and we'll find age-appropriate projects for you to tackle.

Sure thing! Camping reservations can be made through the Facilities and Camp Rentals tab for camping for an evening or the weekend.
6) What if we want to come help on a weekday?
Please do! Just be sure to contact Ranger John (see contact info below) in advance so he can prepare.
