The 5 Day Adventure Trek

Adventure is here!

This jam-packed high adventure program offers Scouts and Adult Participants an exhilarating opportunity to explore and experience the Best of the Mountains when it comes to thrill seeking adventures. You will make a SPLASH while whitewater rafting the French Broad, Nantahala, Ocoee, Pigeon, and Watauga Rivers. HANG out in the Treetop Adventure Park while ziplining in the Nantahala Gorge and EXPLORE beyond the earth’s surface in Worley’s Cave. Whitewater classifications for each river range from Class 1 to Class 4 rapids. All adventures and activities are fully guided by professional outfitters.

Note for Ziplining – Participants must way 60 – 250 lbs per the Nantahala Outdoor Center. Weight restrictions are set in place by the outfitter for your safety.

Note for Worley’s Cave – This cave consists of over seven miles of large rooms and narrow passages. This is an ideal cave to get introduced to the interesting and adventurous world of caving and suitable for a wide range of ages and abilities. Explore rooms like the Hobbit’s Hallway, the Fairy’s Ballroom, Tombstone, Giant’s Causeway, Thin Floor Room, the Hall of Masks, Base Camp, and the Bermuda Triangle. +++ Are you claustrophobic? No need to worry; most of the rooms in the cave are big enough to contain a house. With the ceiling 80 feet above your head and rooms ¼ of a mile long you can really relax and enjoy yourself.+++

Program Cost includes professional outfitter fees, forest service fees, meals, transportation, and lodging. 5 Day Adventure participants will camp at the High Adventure Outpost, ½ mile from the entrance of Camp Daniel Boone. The outpost amenities include traditional platform wall tents, cots, a shower house facility with hot water and flush toilets, laundry access, large field for ultimate frisbee and games, gaga ball pit, and a covered pavilion with electricity.

Meals: Breakfasts will be served in the Dining Hall on Base Camp or To-Go. Lunches will be To-Go and carried with you from the Outpost. Dinners will be cooked by participants at the Outpost; all ingredients and cooking equipment are provided (excluding person mess kits). Participants with special dietary needs/restrictions will need to fill out the Special Diets Information Form on the Camp Daniel Boone website.
