Rapids Adventure Program

Forward One and Arms UP!

Nothing says High Adventure like experiencing the thrill of Whitewater Rafting and navigating Class 1- 4 river rapids around Western North Carolina and East Tennessee. This program offers Scouts and Adult Participants bountiful opportunities to make a splash and get on the water every single day. We will start off by hitting the most popular whitewater rafting river in North Carolina: the Nantahala, traversing through Class 2 and 3 rapids around every bend. Next up, you will challenge yourself on the upper section of the Pigeon, slicing through Class 3 and 4 rapids. We will travel back to the Nantahala river mid-week where you navigate the river in a Ducky inflatable kayak! The adventure continues while tackling the Ocoee river’s middle section, known for its miles of continuous Class 3 and 4 rapids. We end the week on the scenic, swift-moving Class 2 and 3 rapids of the French Broad river, the 3rd oldest river in the world! All rafting adventures are fully guided by professional raft guides.

Program Cost includes professional outfitter fees, forest service fees, meals, transportation, and lodging. 5 Day Adventure participants will camp at the High Adventure Outpost, ½ mile from the entrance of Camp Daniel Boone. The outpost amenities include traditional platform wall tents, cots, a shower house facility with hot water and flush toilets, laundry access, large field for ultimate frisbee and games, gaga ball pit, and a covered pavilion with electricity.

Meals: Breakfasts will be served in the Dining Hall on Base Camp or To-Go. Lunches will be To-Go and carried with you from the Outpost. Dinners will be cooked by participants at the Outpost; all ingredients and cooking equipment are provided (excluding person mess kits).
